Looking Back To 2015 And Forward to WordCamp Sacramento 2016

Speaker Dinner WordCamp Sacramento 2015

WordCamp 2015 was a great start to WordCamp Sacramento.

I remember last November’s WordCamp Sacramento 2015 with a lot of warmth in my heart. New connections and great conversations began at the event that are still enriching my professional life today. It is great to see a powerful tech event like WordCamp gaining momentum in Sacramento, especially because it is created by and for the local community and serves WordPress users of all skill levels.

Last year WordCamp Sacramento tickets sold out in just a few hours and people all over the state — and even out of state — were clamoring to come and participate. This year, with a new larger venue and two days of presentations, there will be even more opportunities to learn something new, build community, and create possibilities.

As someone who has been dedicated to helping young designers and developers get their start in the professional world for the past eight years, I can not express how thankful I am to the Bourns, the other organizers, and the whole community for making WordCamp possible.

I am particularly proud of the members of our local WordPress community that spoke and presented last November, and I hope to see even more of our local community get involved and present at this year’s event. So head over to the Call For Speakers page, look at some of the topic ideas, and submit something! I know there is a tendency to think, “I’m not good enough.” But your experiences with WordPress are valuable, and we want to embrace users at every level!

Let’s build prosperity in Sacramento together for all of us! Good times are ahead!
